🦋 IC Information
Character Name: Andros
Age: 17
Canon: Power Rangers
Canon Point: Pre-PRIS (Zeo/Turbo era)
Character History: Here
Canon Abilities:
Power Ranger: Andros cannot morph into the red ranger without his morpher. His weapons as the red ranger include his astro blaster and his spiral saber (a sword based weapon that can combine with his astro blaster for extra power). When morphed, Rangers have increased dexterity, constitution and strength, but nothing completely superhuman, just enhanced. Ranger abilities are powered up from their own human abilities. Gunfire, like laser blasts or stab wounds would damage him, but it would just take more to keep him down or hurt him. Andros can be painfully, forcibly demorphed. When this happens their morphed state is ripped from them, as they cannot maintain the concentration or life force necessary to keep going.
Andros' powers, like all of Zordon’s rangers, are tied in to his life energy. He can fight longer and take more hits, but he runs the risk of being much more seriously hurt the longer he goes. Unlike Power Rangers who were not under Zordon’s command, Andros forcibly demorphs only when close to death or seriously injured. Also, he will be in serious jeopardy of death if his morpher is broken, or in evil hands.
Accelerated healing
The Power gives all Rangers the ability to heal much quicker from fights. This is usually within a couple of days for broken bones. This ability is offset by increased hunger.
Telekenesis
Andros, like most other Karovans, is telekinetic and has practiced from a young age. He’s only been shown as able to lift small objects, like a towel, pool stick or his weapon. He can't move heavy or big things like chairs.
Telepathy
Andros has a telepathic and empathic connection with Zhane, his Silver Ranger.
Mundane abilities
Combat
Most likely a black belt in the Karovan version of Taekwondo. Like most Power Rangers, Andros is skilled in self-defense, as well as ranger typical weaponry (firearms, explosives, handheld scientific scanners, etc).
Engineering
Andros has been alone on the Astro Megaship for 2 years. He's had to keep a ship designed for 6 people running by himself.
Infiltration, Espionage and Reconnaissance
Andros is currently waging a one ranger war on evil. While he becomes the most skilled sky in PR history, he's not there yet.
Voice Manipulation Andros has been shown to be able to manipulate his voice during intel gathering to avoid being recognized.
Inventory: Astro Morpher, flight suit, locket.🦋 Personality
Option 1: Answer the following questions. Elaborate on the answer, especially your characters thoughts and feelings surrounding the answer. For Canon Characters, you can choose four questions. For Original Characters, you will need to choose six questions. Keep the word count to 150-400 per question.
If your character could ask for one wish, and it's going to be magically granted without any consequence, what will it be and why?
Andros' first initial though would be Karone, his sister. But last time he saw Karone, she was 5. His planet and his people were healthy, his parents were alive. Everything was fine. That's not the case anymore. And bringing Karone back wont bring everyone else back. So instead?
Zhane. He wants Zhane back. Due to his empathic/telepathic connection with him, he felt him die. He wants his best friend to wake up from his coma, off life-support, whole and healthy. Zhane in many ways is Andros' conscience. He's his better half. He's the half that goes 'hey, maybe we shouldn't randomly torture this nice guy here, maybe instead we could use our words and ask him nicely?' Without Zhane (or his future teammates), Andros has a really hard time listening to that inner voice. He becomes the type of person who slips in when no one is looking to make really dubious decisions that go against the conventions of war. Evil didn't hold to that. Why should he? Don't two wrongs make a right?
He'll still feel terrible if others get hurt because of him. Others constantly get hurt because of him--that's why he keeps everyone at arms length. Andros isn't without a conscience, it just has a rather delayed reaction due to intense trauma. Andros misses having a connection with others, but purposefully cuts it off to avoid everyone getting hurt, himself included. So, he wants Zhane back. Because, that's the first step.
If there's one person your character would follow to another realm, who would it be and why? If there's no one, state that and explain why.
Unlike his older self, this Andros wouldn't follow anyone else to another realm. This is an Andros on his last fuck, he has absolutely nothing to lose. His world is an abandoned warzone, his people are pretty much dead, his team is dead, his sister is still missing, his best friend is in a coma and may never wake up. This is an Andros who literally abandoned his world and his people--while they are under attack-- a world he swore to protect, to go on a quest of vengeance against Dark Specter. To make someone pay--and in a roundabout way to keep people safe. He believes he can't do it as a team.
This is an Andros that cares about targets and making the enemy suffer as much as he and his people have. If his target goes to another universe, that's fine. He'd move on to the next target. This is an Andros who has literally tortured prisoners of war, blown up entire ships full of innocent and not so innocent people to get revenge, so they might suffer like he's suffered. He believes the ends justify the means. All that playing by the rules? It just got people killed. This Andros puts himself first, not other people.
Pre-Series, Andros has spent two years completely alone. With no one to talk to besides the ship's computer, just going after enemy targets. He has no one he cares for. He has no attachments besides his own ship, just his own will to try to make whatever right he can. This is an Andros that has very little to live for.
What is your character's most outstanding personality trait, and why?
Unhinged desperation. Pre-series Andros cares about one thing and one thing only. Himself and his mission, and he'll do anything needed to get it done. He's still the gigantic asshole he is during and post series but he completely lacks any understanding of teamwork. Andros and his sense of teamwork, of consequences, of right and wrong died when his own team died. When Darkonda unleashed wave after wave of Barillian Bug attacks which transformed the people of KO-35 into monsters. When Andros was forced to kill his own people, the people he promised to protect. He'll attack anyone who gets in his way, even if they're other rangers.
He's dealing with a lot of complex trauma, of grief and failure, from the almost complete massacre of his own people, some of which at his own hand, to the complete and utter failure of his training. He couldn't keep people safe. He couldn't keep his sister safe. He couldn't even own team safe. When he was handed the red morpher not too long ago, he wondered why. Because unlike the rest of the rangers, he would NOT drop everything to help anyone. He's not like the other rangers. He's selfish. He's someone who, at his current point, puts himself before anyone else. He puts his own needs before the needs of others, which is not really an attribute of a ranger. It is emphasized pre-series that every time he does morph, he gives in a little more to that side of him that is and can be a ranger, can do good, and can put others first. But he's not quite there yet.
Everyone he's cared about has already died. It honestly doesn't matter. Andros would go back to waging his one ranger war, assuming he still had the protection of the power. He'd just pick himself up and keep going, because nothing's changed. As far as he would know, KO-35 was still gone, his sister was dead or missing a long time ago, his team was long dead. He'd mourn the sister he never got to find, and his people he never got to avenge. If hundreds of years had passed, it would make no difference than if it had been a year. The only real change is he'd need time to regroup and figure out who the major players were, make sure his own technology and ship was up to the task. He'd be honestly systematic about it. He'd double check the Astro Megaship, work on upgrading it's systems, and start scouring for more targets. He's still a ranger fighting a one ranger war. It's just that this time, he doesn't want to give anyone else the chance to help. He doesn't want their assistance. He works alone. Being a couple hundred years later? That will just cement his state of being. That having a team doesn't matter. That it's just the fight that matters. That he's a single rock trying to hold against the tide. But he's still trying.
🦋 Fae Court
List your top three choices for your characters adoptive court. The mods will choose the one out of those three options that seems the most fitting based on your app.
- Dusk
- Day
- Dark?
3) Yes, but they either have no ability of their own, or they refuse to trade theirs away; they will buy their court's ability on credit.
🦋 RP Samples
Please link your RP samples from the TDM or previous play here. Sample threads can't be older than a year and must be from an open community. RP samples do not need to meet a required length, they instead convey the idea of your character's personality and how they speak, think, and interact with the world around them. A single link will suffice, unless your sample is from a texting-only thread. In that case, we'll need an additional sample detailing the character's thought processes and physical gestures.
